Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Physis Techne, LLC dba Structured Steel collects through structured-steel.com, our phone and text lines, email, and our work with customers, and how we use and share it.
Information we collect
- Contact and business details you give us: name, company, title, email, phone, mailing and project addresses.
- Project information: drawings, specifications, bid invitations, contracts, change orders, photos, and job-site details, including owner, lender and legal description information needed for lien notices.
- Transaction information: estimates, invoices, payment status, tax-exemption certificates and W-9s. Card and bank payments are handled by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: emails, calls, voicemails and text messages with us, which may be recorded or logged for quality and record-keeping.
- Website data: pages visited, device and browser information, approximate location and referral source, collected through cookies and similar tools, plus anything you submit through forms or file uploads.
How we use it
We use information to respond to inquiries and bid invitations; prepare estimates and proposals; perform, document and bill our work; serve legally required notices (such as Arizona preliminary twenty day notices); maintain quality, safety and material traceability records; process orders and payments; communicate about projects, scheduling and deliveries; improve our website and services; protect our legal rights; and comply with law, insurance, bonding and licensing requirements. We may send business updates to customers and prospects, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed to do our work:
- Service providers that run our business systems under confidentiality obligations, including accounting and invoicing (Intuit QuickBooks), email and file storage (Google Workspace), website hosting (Cloudflare and GitHub), workflow automation (Zapier), phone and text messaging (Twilio), payment processors, and shipping carriers.
- Project participants where the work requires it: owners, general contractors, lenders, architects, engineers, inspectors and suppliers.
- Professional advisers and partners: attorneys, accountants, insurers, sureties and lenders.
- Public filings: lien notices, liens and bond claims, which may become public records when served or recorded as the law requires.
- Legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, subpoenas or regulators, or to protect our rights and others' safety.
- Business transfers: to a successor if the business or its assets are sold, merged or reorganized, subject to this policy.
Text messages (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may text you about bids, projects, deliveries, scheduling and billing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time. Mobile numbers and text-messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of doing business with us.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies for basic functions and analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work without them.
Retention and security
We keep project, contract, tax and quality records for at least 10 years after a project ends, or longer when the law, a contract or a dispute requires. Other information is kept as long as needed for the purposes above. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, but no system is completely secure.
Your choices
You may ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to stop marketing messages, by contacting us. We may keep information we are legally required to keep or need for an active project, contract or claim.
Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new version here with its effective date.
